MISSION

The mission of the Committee on Sustainability is to advocate for sustainable infrastructure in order to ensure protection of the “triple bottom line”: environmental, economic and social conditions in Massachusetts. To bring awareness to the public and civil engineering community as to the importance of sustainable planning, design and construction. To promote tools, certifications and awards relevant to sustainable development in the built world.

ACTIVITY

  • The Committee organizes and sponsors events that emphasize sustainable infrastructure planning, design and construction.
  • The Committee, with support from the Awards Committee, reviews and evaluates projects submitted for the yearly “Sustainability in Civil Engineering Award.”
