The BSCES Program Committee advances the Society goal of becoming the pre-eminent provider of professional development programs for civil engineers in Massachusetts. By delivering high-quality professional development opportunities through lectures, seminars, and training programs on relevant topics, the committee strengthens BSCES’ ability to be an important source for obtaining continuing education, helps defray Society operating costs, and supports ASCE’s Raising the Bar Initiative.
In order to address BSCES member educational needs, the Program Committee meets monthly, typically in the last week of the month, and develops a curriculum of professional development program offerings that is:
To achieve its goals, the Program Committee currently runs seminars offered by the National Highway Institute on bridge and tunnel inspection, and is responsible for the biannual Professional Engineer Refresher Course, currently being held virtually.
