Public Awareness & Outreach Committee
MISSION The Public Awareness And Outreach Committee is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and reporting all educational outreach on the K-12 level, and developing and/or participating in activities and creating/participating in the development of literature or other media with the explicit purpose of promoting Civil Engineering or the work of the BSCES to the public as a whole.
The Committee is comprised of a Committee chair and members.
Meetings are held at noon on the same day as the Executive Board meetings, subject to change per agreement of the Committee members.
All activities are discussed each meeting, but all action items are carried out between meetings, and all members are expected to communicate as frequently as necessary to successfully carry out all actions.
The committee submits a budget to the Board each year. Funding is through grants, trusts, and award monies received. If additional funds are needed, they will coordinate fundraising activities through the Fundraising Committee.
