MISSION

The Public Awareness & Outreach Committee is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and reporting all educational outreach on the K-12 level, and developing and/or participating in activities and creating/participating in the development of literature or other media with the explicit purpose of promoting Civil Engineering or the work of the BSCES to the public as a whole.

ACTIVITIES

The Public Awareness & Outreach Committee organizes a number of events and competitions aimed at raising awareness of the civil engineering profession to students and the public, including:

  • New England Regional Future City Competition
  • Model Bridge Competition
  • Ralph Salvucci Online Bridge Competition
  • Boston Bridge Tours
  • Signature Challenge
  • Infrastructure Day

The Public Awareness & Outreach Committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00PM. Meeting location varies between Gill Engineering in Needham and AECOM in Boston. Please see the events calendar for further information, or contact the committee chair.
