BSCES Member Brendan Harley Named ASCE Distinguished Member

BSCES and ASCE Life Member Brendan Harley, Sc.D, P.H., CEng, was elected by ASCE to its 2025 class of distinguished members this spring for fostering the development of advanced hydrologic and hydrogeological modeling tools over the course of his 50-year career.

After Brendan received his doctorate from MIT in 1971, he and three MIT colleagues established Resource Analysis Inc, which was later acquired by CDM Smith. At CDM Smith, Brendan served as senior vice president and continued being a leader in the expansion of surface water modeling tools, as well as being focused on sustainable development and protection of coastal area groundwater supplies with complex freshwater-saltwater interfaces.
