The Town of Plymouth, Mass. (pop. 62,000), is seeking an experienced and professional leader with superior engineering skills, proficient communication and presentation skills, and the ability to maintain high morale within the division to serve as Town Engineer. Plymouth is a vibrant and historic coastal community in southeastern Massachusetts. Plymouth has a five-member Select Board, a representative Town Meeting form of government, a preliminary FY25 budget of approximately $280.3 million, and an AA+ rating. Preferred candidates will have a demonstrable record of municipal engineering success, be able to build collaborative relationships, and be excited to serve as the leader of a dynamic engineering division.
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and 5 years (10 years preferred) of full-time civil engineering design and/or construction and supervision experience on a variety of engineering projects, especially those involving public works construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and hold a Massachusetts Class D Driver’s license. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans. Plymouth is an EOE/AA employer.
Annual Salary: $137K+/- DOQ. Position receives a $2K stipend for having a bachelor’s degree or a $3K stipend for having a master’s degree, and a 15% contribution match for deferred compensation.
