NHI is offering a discount on several of their courses in 2020 in honor of their 50th year in operation and BSCES is happy to pass that discount along by holding four NHI Courses in 2020. To learn about the other three, click here.
This five-day course is highly interactive and builds upon participants' prior knowledge of tunnel and/or bridge inspection. The course covers the entire breadth of knowledge necessary to manage or execute a successful tunnel inspection based on the National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS), Tunnel Operations, Maintenance, Inspection and Evaluation (TOMIE) Manual and Specifications for the National Tunnel Inventory (SNTI). During the course, the instructor will lead participants through a series of case studies, concluding with a virtual tunnel inspection that takes place in a computer-simulated, 3D environment.
Please note: To take this course, participants must show that they have passed one of the following pre-requisite courses: FHWA-NHI-130054, Engineering Concepts for Bridge Inspectors; FHWA-NHI-130055, Safety Inspection of In-service Bridges, FHWA-NHI-130101, Introduction to Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges; or FHWA-NHI-130101A, Prerequisite Assessment for Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges. A FHWA/NHI certification of completion with the participant name on it will be required to be presented to BSCES preferably at time of registration or no later than Friday, April 3, 2020. Please forward your prerequisite certificate in the form of a PDF document to email@example.com.
