BSCES publishes its newsletter, BSCESNews, each month between September and June. For the fifth year in a row, the newsletter offered corporate sponsorship opportunities. Ten companies that responded to our invitation for sponsorship sponsored one issue of the newsletter.
BSCESNews covers Section activities such as our Model Bridge contest; professional topics such as funding engineering projects, engineering ethics, sustainability and smart growth, and codes and standards; legal issues such as the Public Construction Reform Act and recent developments in Public Records Law; and member profiles. It provides extensive coverage of all current and upcoming technical group meetings and information on membership in ASCE/BSCES. In addition, the newsletter offers classified advertising and large and small space advertising as well as full page inserts. The Newsletter’s Board of Editors is comprised of members of the BSCES Board of Government and volunteer members and is coordinated by staff from The Engineering Center.
BSCES was presented with the 2004 National Outstanding Newsletter Award for Very Large Sections during the Presidential Luncheon at the Zone I Leadership conference on January 29, 2005 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
