Strategic Plan Committee
MISSION
A Strategic Plan Committee was organized in 1992 to develop a 5-year strategic plan for BSCES. The Committee developed a long range plan, containing 11 goal areas that were adopted by the Board of Government on May 18, 1993.
The committee was reactivated in 1994 to review and update the plan to incorporate "pro-active" engineering. A twelfth goal area was developed and adopted by the Board of Government on January 23, 1995. The 1994-1995 committee also assisted the president in reviewing a proposed draft of ASCE's national strategic plan.
An updated plan was developed in 1998 and 1999, presented to the Board of Government on January 24, 2000 and adopted in March 2000. A copy of the plan can be downloaded below.
STRUCTURE
The 1998-2000 Committee was chaired by the then-president and included two past presidents, the president-elect and the executive director, with additional input from approximately fifty members.
MEETINGS
Meetings are held as necessary to accomplish specific yearly objectives. The committee was disbanded as of March 2000 and requires future reactivation for an update of the Strategic Action Plan.
CHARGE
The committee reviews the strategic plan of the Section and drafts proposed changes as appropriate for approval by the Board of Government.
FINANCIAL
This committee has no budget and neither receives nor disburses funds.
