To inform and encourage the civil engineering community to become involved proactively with the public and local communities. An effort will be made to bring together leaders in both engineering and public sectors to share experiences and promote community involvement to civil engineers.
The committee is chaired by the BSCES Secretary or other member of the board as designated by the President. The committee chair calls upon other members of the board to participate in the committee as needed.
Coordinate an annual forum and/or panel discussion as part of Engineer's Week on the morning of the luncheon that will present to the engineering community various aspects of proactive involvement in public sector activities:
• Establish topic for panel discussion and find engineers of local/national recognition that are also involved with public sector activities.
• Involve the public and/or media personalities into the panel discussion.
