To review either existing code requirements or proposed changes thereto, participate in State legislative and regulatory code committees, and make recommendations to the Board of Government regarding the technical merits of the same.
The Committee consists of a chairperson and other members as necessary. The Committee may only consist of members of the Society participating in Building Code workshops at the Statehouse and/or regulating agency, and report to the Board of Government at regular board meetings.
Meetings are held as required to discuss and review effects of proposed and implemented changes to the Massachusetts Building Regulations and Standards.
Each sub-committee which is formed will study and make specific recommendations, with supporting data, to existing sections or comments to proposed changes in the building code, for further action by the Board.
This committee neither receives nor disburses funds.
